I speak at various events in the UK on digital marketing, mainly on social media, digital marketing strategy, website design best practice and SEO. I have recently given training sessions all over Yorkshire to Welcome to Yorkshire members and trained them on how to use social media to promote their tourism businesses. I have now trained over 1,000 businesses in Yorkshire and it has been really great to watch them put into practice some of my advice.

2013 Speaking Gigs

2013 is already getting booked up for me on the speaking gigs side of things. Early in the year I have:

- 8th of Jan, Fireside Chat with Dave Edmundson-Bird and Rajesh Joshi from Melbourne Hosting at Manchester Metropolitan University to discuss social media

- 1st of Feb, Search Me? An introductory guide to search marketing. I’ll be taking on the link between SEO and Social Media. The event is being held at The Studio in Manchester and you can get tickets here 

- 2nd of March, Think Visibility. I’ll be speaking on social media strategy at one of the North’s premier digital marketing conferences. Tickets and information here

SAScon 2013

Later in the year it’s time for SAScon on June 6th & 7th  - one of the UK’s leading digital marketing conferences SAScon will be into it’s 4th year next year and promises to be even bigger and better! 2012 Speaking Gigs

So it has already been a pretty busy year speaking gig wise – I have recently given a lecture at Leeds Met University on “The Changing Face of PR in a Digital World” to their 2nd year students and hope to be working with them more in the future!

The second is being held in Leeds on Oct 10th by my good friend Nick Copland. The Great North Food Conference will celebrate all that is fabulous about our food scene. With tasting demos and practical advice for food businesses I’m sure it will be a fantastic day. I’ll be speaking on how small businesses can use social media to boost their profile and online brand. September 2011 Speaking Gigs

September has been busy, busy speaking gig wise!

On Sept 8th I spoke at the Clipper Future Forum in London  – the title of the event was Evolution Vs Revolution , Death of the High Street?

The event was a big success and with fellow speakers from PWC, Venda, Harvey Nichols and Clipper themselves I was in good company! The order of the day was to talk about the changing face of the British High Street and the rise of the multi-channel retailer. My talk was focused on retailers being able to achieve digital harmony both on and offline with the very latest technology available, for example NFC (Near Field Communication) and Blippar.

May 2011 Speaking Gigs

My next speaking gig will be for The Drum’s MiNetwork in Leeds on the 4th of May. The discussion at the panel event will be on “Selling Through Social Media”. I will also be speaking at SAScon the UK’s leading Search Marketing conference May 20th. My speaking slot will be on the location based digital marketing we have done in Yorkshire using Foursquare and the way we used this to help support tourism in the region.
